# Kate Hudson's Snuggly Coat is Snuggly

I can't really tell what that dress is underneath -- it has a whiff of those '80s Princess Diana dresses coming out of Alessandra Rich lately, which I don't love -- but all is forgiven with the great boots and furry coat. I want to wrap myself in it forever. But, it's also not really why we're here. It's sneaking us in the back door so that we can talk about [what Kate wore on The Tonight Show this week](https://www.instagram.com/p/CmHBO%5FZLa8n/?utm%5Fsource=ig%5Fembed&ig%5Frid=6fb3ba0f-cafa-4468-8be1-cbaf88a61fd4):

The second slide is of her standing, so you can see it's only sheer on the sides. But it's a bold move to go on a chat show, where you know you're sitting the whole time, and wear something expressly designed to look like a window when you do that. It's even more pronounced on the fourth slide. I have to give her credit -- she looks fabulous. It's twinkly, SHE is twinkly, her hair is having one hell of a Pantene moment (I have to think it's extensions, but still), and she is selling the shit out of Starry Leg Night over here. Do I LIKE the dress? No, not on its own merits. But we always say every dress has its context, and maybe, just maybe, this one managed to find its mate.
