This was a VERY cute and festive outing indeed. Allow us to turn to Informative, uh, Twitter to set the scene:

> Her Majesty The Queen has passed the patronage to The Duchess having held the role for over 65 years. Her Majesty took the patronage over from Queen Mary in 1953\. [@family\_action](https://twitter.com/family%5Faction?ref%5Fsrc=twsrc%5Etfw&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) was founded in 1869 to help families in difficulty by giving them practical help and support. We've also got video from the scene:

I might be in love with this child:

This is great:

> Kate would make a great Christmas tree seller. As she entertained kids helped by charity [@family\_action](https://twitter.com/family%5Faction?ref%5Fsrc=twsrc%5Etfw&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) owner of Peterley Manor Farm Roger Brill joked “I will have to give her a job at the weekend” [#duchessofcambridge](https://twitter.com/hashtag/duchessofcambridge?src=hash&ref%5Fsrc=twsrc%5Etfw&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) [#princesskate](https://twitter.com/hashtag/princesskate?src=hash&ref%5Fsrc=twsrc%5Etfw&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). And what is Kate wearing? I feel like she came VERY close to leaving the house wearing a Santa hat, to be quite honest. We've got her old stalwart skinny jeans, [this very reasonable sweater](https://www.reallywildclothing.com/long-crew-neck-jumper-emerald?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), her puffer that she's had for ages (including [that time she and Wills and Harry raced each other](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/wills-and-kate-and-harry-race-and-other-stuff-02-2017/)), and a pair of very sensible hiking boots that I haven't seen a credit for -- they are not her Chloe ones. Anyway, the whole thing is festive and appropriate for hauling trees around for kids. Let the holiday spirit move you!
