I personally LOVE a formal pattern, the bolder the better, and I am pro-this pattern specifically. To me, this feels like a F*ck It Dress, where the wearer tries it on, realizes not everyone is going to love it, and then shrugs her shoulders and decides...well, you fill in the blanks. Kate gets a LOT of heat for being too boring. I'm happy to see her err on the other side for once.

I haven't got a photo of the back yet, but it's a very simple V-back. Just so you are aware. I also want to give a shout-out to how 80s this is, from the pattern to the bangs. It's bold.

I thought you might want a look at the earrings, which are -- per our friends at Order of Splendor -- formerly belonging to the Queen Mum. They are sapphires and THEY ARE NICE. I also like this shot because you can imagine What Would Have Been without that ruffle. Didn't we almost have it all?
