Kate IS just like us, applauding at the sight of a fancy cake! Let us all praise baked goods, and turn to Informative Caption:
"The Duchess of Cambridge [stands] next to the ornate cake decorated with dragons and magical creatures baked especially for the official opening of the new 'Magic Garden' play area at Hampton Court Palace....Designed by RHS Chelsea award-winning landscape architect Robert Myers, the Magic Garden draws inspiration from the myths and legends of the Tudor Court, and offers families a new and unique way to explore Hampton Court’s past. Set within King Henry VIII’s former Tiltyard, the play area comprises battlements, towers, a secret grotto, and a number of mythical beasts for children to enjoy, including a 25ft long sleeping dragon. The Magic Garden has been six years in the making, and begins an exciting new chapter in the Palace’s 500 year history. The Historic Royal Palaces’ gardens team have grown and tended to hundreds of trees and plants to create the garden’s magical landscape, planting over 17,000 bulbs and 3,000 shrubs in the garden. The Duchess was taken on a tour around the new play area, and shown some of its unique design features. Along the way, Her Royal Highness will meet those involved in the Magic Garden's design and construction, as well as children and families enjoying the new facilities. Her Royal Highness will then attend a short reception in the grounds of Hampton Court, and unveil a plaque to celebrate the garden's official opening."
Sometimes we get an Informative Caption that is LEGIT REALLY INFORMATIVE and this is one of those days.

If this Michael Kors coat looks familiar, it's because she wore it in Australia. I love it. It's so SWINGY in motion.

"So, let me get this straight. I am NOT allowed to feed people to this dragon? What if they're really, really quite annoying?"

I will NEVER resist tiny children giving -- or refusing to give -- high-fives. It is at this event that Kate told some kids that they have a hamster called Marvin at home. The Adventures of Marvin and Charlotte and George are surely...well, potentially hair-raising as a parent.

That is actually quite a good look. A red hat makes excellent sense with a blue and white polka dot. I look forward to seeing Kate taking sartorial inspiration from this wee noodle.

How cute are all these kids? I always have a soft spot for little girls who clearly want to look fancy but ALSO realize they're going to be hanging upside down at some point. It is the only time at which I give a thumbs up to Dress Over Pants. (I also kind of want that little boy's awesome striped sweater for myself.)

"Oh, yes. Harry will be very comfortable in here."

I really like this Roksanda dress, which we've ALSO seen before, and which I also liked then. Note: that post also has some enjoyable Olympics shenanigans that you might like revisiting.

I always enjoy these photos where it looks like GOSSIP is being exchanged.

And, our final re-wear of the day (also previously seen in Australia). I always like to end on McQueen, and the color of this one is so appealing. Let's pretend she's wearing completely bonkers shoes with it.
