I mean, it's not like a RANDOM hoodie. It is the specific hoodie of the Beaver Scouts (tee hee) that she was meeting. It's not like she went out in some old oversized sweatshirt that *Sports Illustrated* sent Wills with his new subscription. (Also, obviously William would opt for the football phone.) But with her black jeans and black boots she kind of looks like a cat burglar. And, honestly, who would be a better jewel thief than Kate Middleton? Access to the world's finest, and no one would suspect. Think about it, Kate, next time you get bored. You can give the jewels to the poor if you feel bad about it.

Let's be honest. The real reason I am running these is because (a) I am a Kate completist (a Katepletist) but mostly because (b) these photos are amusing and I will totally be able to use them for something in the future.

Time for INFORMATIVE CAPTION: "The Duchess of Cambridge lifts her blindfold, after being helped to ice a cake by Fynley Gooch, aged 7, as she promotes disability awareness while meeting with children at the newly established 23rd Poplar Beaver Scout Colony in east London...The Duchess's visit supports the Scout Association's 'Better Prepared' campaign, which aims to help communities to deliver Scouting to two hundred locations across the UK where Scouting can have the biggest impact."

1: Fynley Gooch is TOO CUTE, and

2: I believe these kids were earning their Disability Awareness badges, which is a much more important badge than I ever earned the one year I was in Girl Scouts. I only joined because everyone in my grade was in it and literally all we did was learn how to make scrapbooks and then have sleepovers where we terrorized our parents and mastered the art of making a popping sound by flipping your index finger out of your mouth, as popularized by the song "Lollipop, Lollipop," by the Chordettes. This was NOT 1958 so don't ask me why we were obsessed with that song. I can still do that party trick perfectly, however. (We were never visited by luminaries of any sort.)

[Royally Played: The Duchess of Cambridge and a Bunch of Beaver ScoutsKate always goes very casual for these Scouting events -- a couple of years ago, they even made her go out into the WOODS and sit on a LOG or something, so it makes sense (addendum: that link goes to a corker of a post that also involves William literally kissing a puppy AND Harry adjusting the royal junk) -- but the fact that she's in a branded hoodie and jeans for this one makes me laugh. It's very, "I'm tired, you guys. I just got back from New York, I'm gestating, George ate Harry's beloved yellow waistcoat last night and Harry won't stop crying about it, and I haven't finished my Christmas shopping yet. Let's be realistic here. I cannot put on a real shirt today.
