# Kate Revisits a 2012 McQueen for the 2020 BAFTAs

I still am a little unmoved by the bodice of this BUT! I am excited to see something from way back in the back of the archives, and it's definitely improved with age for me. I still sort of wish the entire thing was patterned, though. (I LOVE a patterned formal gown.) Also: thank you for going for your metallic shoe, Kate. I say this literally every time Wills wears a tux and it is that I wish he wore a cummerbund or something, because he too is long of torso and his shirt always looks like it's about to be sloppy. Like, it's NOT sloppy...but it's sloppy adjacent. ([Chaz, on the other hand, almost always does the double-breasted tux](https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com/article/wear-black-tie-like-royal/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), which looks very smart on him. He IS a double-breasted enthusiast. \[Insert PG-13 pun here.\])

The back of this dress is BEAUTIFUL; the sweep of the skirt is lovely.

Whoops, I downloaded more pics of Kate's updo than I thought I did. It has a very Elizabeth Taylor in the 60s feel -- this whole thing sort of does -- which is not an insult. GO FULL CAFTAN NEXT TIME, KATE!
