Katy Perry in Stephane Rolland

I'm totally on board with this. It's edgy and architectural while still being elegant, it's fit with absolute precision, and it's a great showcase for her haircut. This whole thing is so much better and more smoothly put-together than... well, this, for one.

I am enjoying the shadows cast by those giant earrings SO MUCH.

Katy opened the show by pretending she went to space, and then arriving through the roof in a spacesuit (approved in a pre-taped bit by Abby from Broad City and Kathryn Hahn, which... I love Kathryn Hahn, but was Ilana sick?).

Then she halfway got changed, in service of a Handmaid's Tale gag (they were pretending she'd been in space and was unplugged from the zeitgeist), which meant she delivered the rest of her monologue wearing a half-shed suit and a flesh-colored bodysuit.

When I say "Pick a side: catsuit or dress," I don't mean they should EACH get one side.

The whole "babies are so hot right now" gag felt ten years stale. And it also meant we didn't get a good look at ANYTHING of this dress exept the slit. THINK OF THE BLOGGERS

This is GORGEOUS, though. I love it. I wish it hadn't been wasted on a mid-show costume change for like 30 seconds of screen time.

in Halpern

This is either the same one Marion Cotillard wore (which was Halpern), or a cousin. BOLD, Katy. I loved what it represented when Marion wore it, and I think it's kinda wasted here, but I guess if she's second to market with it -- so to speak -- then it makes more sense?

This did make me laugh: When they came back from commercial after the Game of Thrones finale (allegedly) ended, Katy was dressed as Daenarys. Complete with dragon.

For some reason this is the only shot I had of this, but... it looks exactly the same from the front.

And then she closed the show with "Swish Swish," and decided to go SUPER LITERAL with a basketball theme. It says a lot about Dior's current direction that I looked at these costumes and thought, for a hot second, "IS THAT DIOR???"

But this is some seriously creepy imagery right here.

Full marks for a theme.

"I'M LEGIT GONNA DO THIS RIGHT NOW EVERYONE."

"HOW MANY POINTS AM I WORTH IF I GO THROUGH THIS THING?"

"omg i'm too tired now to use any capital letters when i talk."

Which was a nice surprise.
