All right, I nix the leggings with this. Wholeheartedly. But she's carrying off the volume of that top really nicely, in a way that a lot of other Balmain junkies (ahem, the Kards) don't.

The dress is cute. But that COAT. I don't know who makes it, but that person should pat him or herself on the back.

I find the pants' tailoring to be a big problem, but again, THE COAT. It's Tracy Reese, so maybe the other one was too (just because Janelle likes her stuff and Tracy likes patterns and they could easily be two coat-peas from ... a coat-pod). Basically, she's really good at elevating something questionable by tossing a gorgeous outer layer over it.

Yes. Just yes.

This is my favorite thing she's worn... EVER, I think, honestly.

This was the Met Gala, and I find it intriguing that H&M was able to cobble together something more flattering and attractive and dramatic than a lot of the major designers.

This one is OSTENSIBLY about the cape, but really, I think it's all a framework for the shoes. Which is fine with me.

Not a cape, in fact, but it somehow has the feel of one. If she twirled in it, there would be drama.

This looks like... some kind of half-poncho draped over a dress that is itself multi-leveled? I don't know. It's confusing, but on her, arresting.

We are now entering into the Hattitude portion of events.

This hat reminds me of all the stuff Whoopi wore as Guinan on Star Trek: TNG.

I'm glad Janelle has started mixing in dresses. I like her pants outfits, don't get me wrong, but I think LIMITING one's ruts allows for the other stuff to still feel welcome (ie, capes and hats).

This is one of my favorites of all of them. That she mixed in a RED hat rather than her basic black topper gives it some zest.

Another thing I enjoy about her is that she rotates through several pairs of shoes she obviously loves.

Yes, Janelle, I AM sort of surprised to see you in something approaching a ball cap. It's like you got mad at your other hat and tore pieces off of it.

This is both pleasingly bananas, and not the most flattering thing she's ever worn. But it points to her increasing willingness to go with patterns, which I do appreciate, ahem, Amy Schumer.

I like that she's essentially dressed as Lady Lagerfeld.

This, though, is a pretty solid effort from the Kaiser. It's froofy but she's selling it, which I think is right own to the coat.

This sort of feels like schematics for some kind of space station. So, apt.

We're getting out of the rut here and now just into Other Things She Wore. She LOVES architectural hair, for one thing.

That might be the shortest skirt I've ever seen her wear. She really does not half-ass these things, though -- like it or not, she is styled from head to toe, and I have to tip my hat (and cape) to that. Never change, Janelle. Well, sometimes hem your pants better.
