You generally do not see pregnant ladies on the red carpet in a midriff-baring ensemble, and so this WAS noteworthy, and unexpected, and in many ways great... just maybe not with the "execution" part. From this angle, it looks nice enough -- the beading is gorgeous.

But from this side... what the?!? Was this Miuccia's brilliant idea for how to handle not knowing how big Kerry's chest might be at any given gestational moment? It's the most expensive custom-made bib in the world. (Actually, someone somewhere probably has one that cost more and actually IS being used as a bib. I hope they keep that information to themselves.)

And Kerry was presenting -- and for all they knew, might also win! -- and clearly no one put thought into how this would look on-stage, when it's all you can see. At the time, Jessica noted that it looked like her shirt burst backstage, and that's true. It's just such a shame. Was it THAT HARD to wrap her brain around making a custom crop top for a pregnant lady? Surely not; Brandon Maxwell managed to custom-fit something to her pregnant body VERY WELL in 2016. And did I cut Kevin Spacey out of this photo? You bet.

I believe here she was nominated for Confirmation, in which she played Anita Hill. It's... you know. I feel like it wants me to pay too much attention to its construction, and the detailing looks like a pricey skin rash.

But lo! I found a flashback to 2005, when they were nominated for Ray. This is so cute. It's Baby's First Grown-Up Dance cute, and I don't mean that as an insult; she's just become someone who's very experimental with fashion, and it's fun to look back and see a time when she went with something so unabashedly sweet.
