*Joker: Folie a Deux*, a sequel I don't think we needed to a movie I also don't think we needed, debuted in Cannes [to mixed reviews](https://people.com/joker-2-first-reactions-folie-a-deux-venice-film-festival-8697650?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). But it got the absolute most out of its greatest promotional asset: Lady Gaga, as usual, came to play.

[She changed to watch the actual film](https://x.com/RaminSetoodeh/status/1831424822263664840?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and if you click to see, you'll read that apparently the movie got an 11-minute standing ovation -- these are so arbitrary and obsequious; I don't trust them -- and Joaquin Phoenix tapped out at minute nine. Relatable.
