This is just dreamy. It's nothing I would ever choose for myself -- well, I can't say that for sure, as I have never in my life and will never in my life be in a position to CONSIDER this type of dress code -- but it's completely the kind of garment that I want to put on for ten minutes and just... EXPERIENCE. Just to know what it feels like. Is it light? Heavy? Is twirling as fun as it looks, or cumbersome? And a hundred other questions.

This is also one of those gowns where I don't think it has to be perfect. Does that make sense? For example, sometimes I look at the skirt and think it does resemble bedding, with the large satin patches and the feather trim. But I also don't care, and it passes quickly, because the overall effect is so breathtaking on her that the details -- the Monet of it all -- cease to matter.

I am sadly bereft of photos of her getting off a boat -- she did RIDE one though, so clearly it happened -- but we have her pouring out of the car, and the brilliance of this dress is further underscored here. If ANY of it wrinkled, it was impossible to notice.
