That skirt is like Center Stage on steroids and it might have been SO FUN. And I think Lena sometimes veers into wearing stuff she thinks is fun rather than what's actually flattering, and I wonder if that's because going big and goofy feels safer than breaking a sweat trying to nail it and then not doing so (also, it's entirely possible she doesn't have time to give a damn whether she nails it or not). Regardless, I would have burned the janky satin pajama top and DEMANDED SATISFACTION with something simple and tank-style, with a slim V-neck. You can do it, Lena -- just go right up to the Giambattista Valli people and slap them in the face with your dueling gloves.
I wanted to caption this Lena Michele, because she's doing her best Lea pose here. And I love it. Also, I think her makeup suits both the outfit AND the hair.
This was the first photo of her gown that I saw, and I liked it better here, at least, so... I thought I might share. It reminds me of nothing so much as the time my son came home from pre-school and told me, very seriously, with zero prompting, "Dresses can be for boys AND girls," and I found out it was because he'd taken a shine to a particular poufy one but ONLY worn with a hat and a feather boa. I that. He and Lena should have a tea party.
This color is lovely; if she JUST stood up a little straighter... says the blogger who has become a hunchback. But tell me: Who is it that I'm thinking she looks like here, with the hair? I'm drawing a blank. There's just a familiar vibe that I can't place. DISCUSS. And now I'm realizing I don't own enough purple.
