It sounds like talks between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA have taken a [sour turn, as I guess the studios are walking away from the table](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/sag-aftra-talks-suspended-studios-say-1235616218/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- which is incredibly frustrating because all those writers are ready to go and all these actors would really like to work. The [AMPTP is leaking its mess to Deadline](https://deadline.com/2023/10/actors-strike-talks-suspended-1235570997/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), in what feels like a very familiar attempt to break union solidarity by making them all mad at their leadership, but that didn't work for the WGA and I don't think it will work here, either. None of these companies have EVER been less popular among the rank-and-file; they're not gonna turn their backs on Fran Drescher for this shit. Folks predicted after the WGA settled that SAG would take until November, and I have one friend who said back in May that he thought the whole thing would go until February if it actually went as far as November. I hope HE is wrong. COME ON, PRODUCERS. At this rate the *Abbott Elementary* kids will be full-grown before they turn the cameras on again.
