This feels SO Hunger Games to me, which is apt because I believe it was when Elizabeth Banks was promoting the first one that I initially heard about Peter Pilotto (or else she was promoting something else but had RECENTLY been pimping Hunger Games). Either way. It's very "Catching Fire." I kind of wish J.Lawr could wear it at the premieres, but she's under DIor's thumb still, right?
This is the less practical version, but still cool to look at on a runway.
What I love about this show, even if this dress would be EXTREMELY advanced to pull off on a red carpet, is that there's so much to look at -- so much going on everywhere that you could notice something different each time you gaze.
This dress looks like a holodeck to me. Very sci-fi.
I may love this. A bit short for real life, but what a funky pattern
All that structure is so interesting - it's what I really felt was missing from NYFW this time around, with some exceptions. I'm curious to know if I'll like it on a red carpet; I think, like most things, it largely depends on the conviction of the wearer. It's CRAZY, but has potential.
This is a similarly structured idea, but there's way too much happening and so you completely lose the line of the body IN the dress.
I am less of a fan of this. It's like religious robes for a very nature-oriented religious cult.
This both cool, and potentially the setting for a horror movie.
Fraulein Maria? Is that you?
Nice. Emma Stone?
Rashida Jones. RIGHT?
This is ALSO Rashida Jones to me. Apparently anything with a collar is going to make me think of her.
Oh, wow, that is... so much. I kind of want to see what it looks like without the X Marks The Spot piece. Let's pretend it's NOT a treasure map and go from there.
I love this. And I LOVE that the slip underneath looks like a wire hoop skirt. IS it? It kind of looks like it's just a slip that's PRINTED like one.
That pink dress rules. Rooney Mar is seriously missing out by cleaving to a depressing color palette.
I also like this one. What if Kristen Wiig wore this?
Ehhhhh. The pockets throw it all out of whack for me.
Midriff Mania continues apace. Someone will wear this, for that feature alone.
I really hate this. It's Midriff Mania multiplied by a glue gun binge.
Too much. TOO MUCH. It would be almost impossible to have it be flattering, especially since it doesn't even look good on the model. Celebrity America, you're welcome to try. Just be forewarned.
