This is a very cute and writer-y look on Tina, who was nominated for writing the book of Mean Girls. Tina has an Emmy already; it's a shame she lost the Grammy she was nominated for, or we'd all be making EGOT noises. (She lost to Betty White; fun fact, that year VAL KILMER was also nominated for audiobook. He read The Mark of Zorro.)

Apparently, this revival of My Fair Lady -- in which HH-P is Henry Higgins, obvs -- is extremely good, and highly feminist. (There'a a lot of George Bernard Shaw and adjacent happening this year, as Saint Joan also comes into play.)

Ambrose is apparently great as Eliza Doolittle; this color might wash her out a little bit? I suspect it's lovely in person.

Andrew is nominated for Angels in America, which I have never seen on stage (although I have read it). This look is very well-styled for this event -- not too fancy, but clearly serious, while still being a little young. I'm sad Emma Stone can't be there for him! WHY CAN'T I QUIT THEM?

Speaking of things I cannot quit: This is Harry, Hermione, and Draco's son, Scorpius from Cursed Child. Parker plays Harry, Dumezweni is Hermione (obviously; she's apparently amazing), and Boyle is Draco's son (in what I thought was the best written part in the play). They've all been nominated

She was nominated for Angels in America, and I like this dress; this whole look feels very Michelle Williams-adjacent, in a good way.

Ashley is nominated for her role in Mean Girls; she plays Gretchen Weiners (AKA the Lacey Chabert role) and apparently has a huge, show-stopping number.

And Taylor plays Regina George and I feel like you can tell that from just this picture! (That's a compliment.)

I kind of want to see this dress without the blazer. LaChanze plays the titular role in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, which the NYT SUPER HATED. They called it "a blight" and "appallingly banal"! This must ease that sting. (They did, however, think she was terrific in it.)

When I read the headlines about this, I thought Tom Holland was the one who was nominated and I had this whole thing worked out about how BOTH Spider-Mans were nominated and Tobey Maguire must be feeling left out and...never mind. I loved you in the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice, Tom.

She looks FANTASTIC in this -- especially with the shoes. She was nominated for Carousel, and I can only imagine how good she is in it; Heather and I saw Jessie in Waitress a few years ago (one of you was there, too, and came and said hello! It was awesome) and she is so talented.

Joshua Henry is nominated for his role in Carousel, and I'm sure he's amazing in that part, in that gorgeous and problematic play. I saw him as Burr in Hamilton in Los Angeles and he was GREAT. (And I saw Leslie Odom Jr. in it so I know from Great Aaron Burrs.)

Renee Fleming is ALSO in Carousel and obviously if you can get her to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" for you, you do it.

This is cute! She is also in Carousel, and you know she's like, "I'm NEVER going to beat Renee Fleming, but that's okay."

She is nominated for Children of a Lesser God, and she looks fantastic here. First she gets to hang out with Pacey every day, now a Tony nomination. MAZEL TOV TO YOU.

I dig this whole look. She's nominated for the Donna Summer musical, also.

Susan is in Angels in America, and I always find it comforting when an actress of a certain age wears a really jazzy blazer. I am looking forward to my own Jazzy Blazer Years.

Laurie Metcalf is probably also like, "damn you, Allison Janney, you're foiling MY EGOT plans!" (All three of these people are nominated for Three Tall Women, the Edward Albee play that Alison Pill is also in; Mantello is the diretor.)

Condola is VERY shiny in those pants. She was nominated for Saint Joan, a play we did at my high school (it's a very serious play for a high school). I played the part of the Inquisitor, which -- if you know the play -- is a part that has only one (very important) scene, but a really REALLY long monologue. 25 years later, I still think that was maybe the most difficult thing I've ever done?

John Leguizamo is getting a special Tony --so is Bruce Springsteen -- and his blazer is dapper.

Okay fine.

She is nominated for Once on The Island and she is apparently GREAT in it.

And Brian Tyree Henry was nominated for Lobby Hero, which is also the play for which Michael Cera got a nom. (This is also the play for which Chris Evans, Tony snubbed though his reviews were excellent, has that mustache.) I have high hopes, based on this look, that he might wear a jaunty suit on Tony night. DON'T LET ME DOWN, BRIAN.

Big finish! Denzel is nominated for The Iceman Cometh, and he already has a Tony, of course, for Fences. I feel like he's a very good EGOT candidate; obviously, he's got the Oscars, already. He's been nominated for two Emmys, but as a producer, and let's be real: I feel like if Denzel does a dramatic guest star turn on ANYTHING, he will be rewarded. And then we've just got the Grammy, which he's also been nominated for as well -- he read the children's book John Henry in 1996 but lost to Patrick Stewart (and it was a TIGHT RACE; the other nominees included Morgan Freeman and Winona Ryder). THAT seems do-able, too. I'm calling it now: EGOT for Denzel in our time.
