This is a rare Paraíba tourmaline from Brazil, a stone considered extra valuable because it's one of the few of its kind not to have internal imperfections. It's called The Blue Lagoon, and it is 93.94 carats -- the way the literature reads, that's JUST the tourmaline, and does not include the diamonds. They put the starting bid at a cool million, but the top end of the estimated value is $2.5 million.

Here it is on, where it looks like a perfectly fancy collar -- the type of thing where we'd wonder if it's actually part of the dress.

The website says this ruby and diamond necklace belonged to Archduchess Margarete Sophie of Austria, Duchess of Wurttemberg, circa 1890-1895. The starting bid is only $88,000! PENNIES! But can you really own it without...

... its matching tiara? You probably cannot. That would be gauche. You don't split up siblings. The tiara will add a minimum of $143K to your bill and maybe as much as $386,000, so maybe sell some of your priceless art?

I BELIEVE this is the Highly Important Fancy Vivid Yellow Stone, coming in at a whopping 103 carats, which might open around $1.5 million but might command as much as $4 mil. Do not confuse this with the >a href="https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2023/magnificent-jewels-and-noble-jewels-4/magnificent-fancy-vivid-yellow-diamond-ring">Magnificent Fancy one, which is a paltry 30 caratsFancy Intense one that's really almost an embarrassment to itself at 12 carats. I assume this woman is pondering whether she can wear this for more than 10 minutes at a time without spraining something.

Ms. Caption says, "An exceptional and highly important natural pearl, and diamond decant-de-corsage, circa 1865." A de-corsage is "a piece of jewellery worn on the centre panel of the bodice of a dress, which is itself also called a stomacher." This isn't listed on the Sotheby's site that I can find, so I assume that means it's free.

And here we have what Lady Caption calls a "historical and important natural pearl and diamond tiara." I also can't find it on the website, but I'm pretty sure the plan is for Lindsay Lohan to break off pieces of it and throw them into the crowd.

Sir Caption says this is "the First Co-Axial Anniversary Wristwatch Ever Created, 2011." The caption valued it at more than half a million bucks, but the website says you have to Enquire Within, apparently, and my rule is that if I have to ask, I can't afford it. So I guess I'll buy a Fossil instead.
