Honestly, this is still underwhelming to me even if you disregard the back. It's just sort of blandly THERE. The pattern makes me think of the white hex tile on my bathroom floor, from before my contractor plugged in the black ones. Honestly, I think it needed some colorful statement jewels and a good bracelet to elevate it, because -- unusually for her -- Marion herself isn't quite doing the job.
WHY GOD. Just let a cape be a cape. Don't bunch it -- and RIGHT under her rear end, to boot. It's dopey, like an unfinished impulse.
Blech. Although it makes me laugh that the sleeves make it look like she has extensive forearm tattoos.
The day Mrs. C used interpretive dance to teach the kids about My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas (or Just Served Us Nachos, depending on your stance on Pluto), was not soon to be forgotten.
Of all the gowns like this in Dior's spring/summer 2015 couture show, this was the blandest. Seriously, there were SEVERAL more cheerfully striped skirts in this vein. WHY did she choose this one? Also, it looks pretty silly on her. And I'm not one to think Marion Cotillard looks silly in ANYTHING; even when it's fugtacular she usually lends some swagger to it. This is just odd. Like a petticoat with grand plans.
