I did not love the styling AROUND this dress, but the dress itself is such a delight to me. It's one of the first ones I remembered when the word "Markarian" floated across Twitter yesterday. I MIGHT wish it were either longer or shorter on her but I think Constance is also quite petite so it might have hit differently on someone taller and they just decided not to tailor it.

Logically, then, this was the other one I remembered. She needed actual lipstick and I'd like to see more inventive shoe options, but I LOVE THIS and she looked smashing in it.

Josephine's name may sound familiar because her sister is Katherine Langford of 13 Reasons Why. She herself was in something called After which was based on a book as well, I believe. ANYHOO. Pretty pattern. The dress is doing some weird pelvic creasing. Is it just how she's standing?

Markarian seems to put most of the slits on the wearer's left/viewer's right. I wonder why that is, and whether that's common across the board, or just a brand preference, and why they choose it. SLIT LOGISTICS. Also, this one seems to fit weirdly or stiffly around the abdomen as well. Is there corsetry in there or something?

This is neat on her. The color and the matching lip are perfect.

Those strings are doing a lot of work here.

Same gorgeous pattern, sans painful string mechanism. I want to move the slit over either to the left or the right. Apparently it would be to my right, going by the brand's theme.

This is stunning. Truly really beautiful.

This otherwise pretty version had a truly bizarre hemline issue that I assume was user error? We're getting into a slightly similar shape of neckline to what Finnegan and Natalie Biden had on theirs. It's the MOST similar to Natalie's, I think -- hers is the gold in that photo, which is not a great picture but it's the closest look.

I really like this -- the way the red peeks out through the sequins is nifty. I assume they're stitched onto a red base, to create that effect?

She looks bored, but I think she looks nice.

Hers is a fun disco version with a neckline adjusted higher. I like.

And I LOVE this. I don't know if I think Anna looks quite right in it -- it's good but is she slightly lost in it, somehow? -- but the metallics are dreamy.

I'm detouring briefly from that cut of dress to show a different take on that same material. It's sassy on Billie but I also think the slit is again oddly placed, and not just because she's standing strangely.

And we're back to slinky slips. This feels very much like what a rich young lady would wear as her third dress at her wedding reception.

Does her head seem too daytime for the gown? I want a smokier eye, or a deeper lip, or something.

It's hard to focus on Joey's Markarian, when her sister Hunter next door looks completely wackadoo. And when she is sporting those SHOES. I am concerned the shoes are also connected to Markarian, because several people in here wear a version of them, but they are see-through and her feet are clearly starting to get hot in there because they're actually FULL-ON FOGGING UP and it's making her look like she filed her toes down into spikes.

I like this dress a lot, but the toe fog is still happening. DISTRACTING TOE FOG is the name of a band.

This one reminds me of Finnegan Biden's dress, because it had black ribbon straps. This is extremely pretty, and a good fit for Thomasin, who was in the throes of her first award season (she's in Jojo Rabbit, and she's great in it).

I am admittedly less enamored of Little House on the SXSW Prairie here. It starts out well, but descends into madness.

I did NOT expect pastel plaid.

I think that dress suits her age very well, but I was thrown anew by the long blond hair and the sudden tan. This was during the Stranger Things 3 tour and both took me by surprise then, and I managed to forget they happened.

She is often styled a bit stuffy for her young age. This fits the bill very well on that regard, and I think is just suffering from being an awkward photo.

This is the CUTE version of the plastic shoe. (I actually really like this whole look on Priyanka.)

Now we're getting into some outliers here. Although I guess the wrap concept here also appeared in the first photo of the gallery. The bow feels like it was added at the last minute.

This fits her very well. She also tends toward the girlie, so the whole thing is very successful on her.

And that's super.

And that has kind of a Saint Laurent feeling.

At the time, Jessica was like, "Formal pajamas. Get back to me when we can wear INFORMAL pajamas to things." THAT DAY HAS ARRIVED. It took a pandemic.

I sincerely thought this was going to be Gucci.

Getting an outfit on Thandie Newton must feel like a blessing from the heavens. This is basically a bathrobe, but it's THANDIE NEWTON, so she's just casually glowing in it.

This feels the MOST random to me considering what came before it. She looks nice in in but I keep wanting to get in there and tug it around and see if it's off-kilter or something? It's also one of the oldest of the looks, though, so obviously everything else we've seen is the evolution from this point. And there's a lot to like, and a LOT that I think we'll see again. I'd love to see more of the beadwork and patterns in the future.
