In for a penny, in for a pound when it comes to draping yourself in tinsel for [the premiere of a documentary about yourself that you commissioned](https://jezebel.com/mary-j-blige-is-the-r-b-queen-of-vulnerability-but-he-1847157481?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), I always say. Tinsel is inherently an over-the-top substance and nothing is more depressing than insufficient tinsel; tinsel yourself up as much as you can, once you've chosen tinsel as a your medium. And the truth is that while I -- in all sincerity! -- do think this is better with the boots, I also think it is incredibly fun and celebratory. She looks great in it, it looks like it would be A DELIGHT to dance in, and I suspect we'll see this look again at a future event on other people because it's fun, and we all are starved for fun. Let's do it up.
