Cate wore a dress version of this to close Cannes in 2018 -- putting a literal bow on it -- and at the time I asked why her boobs had eyelids, and the quesetion still stands. I do think it's cooler with trousers.

Gorgeous! Timelessly so, to the point that it's almost wasted on the show and not an event.

I never did see what he wore under this, so I guess the cape is the whole story. It's a dramatic one.

Elle Fanning

This is from the 2013 bee collection, and the edginess on someone as genetically angelic-looking as Elle Fanning is a fun contrast. It's a heavy ensemble and I think it's suited to an event like this, which is clearly a tribute, or a Met Gala.
