This is a very reasonable coat. She's wearing the official Invictus polo shirt, and I do think there is always sort of a sartorial trial when it comes to looking chic in a branded, event polo. Wearing black jeans with it definitely dressed it up a bit.

I know a LOT of people are pleased by the potential return of the bootcut and I want to note that I DO NOT BEGRUDGE YOU THIS. I just don't think I personally want to go back. (Straight-legged jeans, I can do. I might even be talked into flares, because I have a warm spot in my heart for eccentricities in my wardrobe. But I may be out on the bootcut renaissance. Also, now that I've said this, I will probs go buy some.)

I have to note that I think Meghan looked a tiny bit less animated at this event in than she has at other ones -- and let me stress that she still seemed totally engaged and present; this is not a criticism of her professionalism, or whathaveyou. It IS me noting that she is five weeks away from a GIANT UNDERTAKING OF LOGISTICS AND FAMILY and I suspect she might be a wee bit stressed out because she is a human person .

I like the fabric of this trench. It ALMOST reminds me of a very high-end version of those cozy coats they give to the swimmers on the varsity swim team. (Am I currently obsessing about what I'm going to pack for my OWN trip to the UK for this wedding? YES.)

UK Team Trials for the Invictus Games, Bath University, UK - 06 Apr 2018
Prince Harry, Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, and Meghan Markle attended the UK team trials for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 at the University of Bath Sports Training Village. The Invictus Games is the only international sport event for wounded, injured and sick (WIS) servicemen and women, both serving and veteran. The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of all those who serve their country. Sydney is the fourth city to host the Invictus Games, after London in 2014, Orlando in 2016, and Toronto in 2017. The Invictus Games Sydney 2018 will take place from 20-27th October and will see over 500 competitors from 18 nations compete in 11 adaptive sports
