(Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) This suit is, to quote the noted philosopher Ferris Bueller, so choice. I love it. I love it on him, and I'd love it as wallpaper, and I'd love it as drawer lining. My TV was on ESPN when I turned on the TV last night, and they were doing a post-ESPYs wrap-up, and they'd hired a dude to talk about the fashion, and he was like, "THIS SUIT ROCKED" and I must agree. (Mary looks cute, too. This is one of the few Car Wash Hems that I like.) ## Russell Wilson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813476924_master-1499966067.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player Russell Wilson attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) No offense to Russell -- who must have been SWELTERING in his velvet -- but I was bummed that he didn't bring Ciara with him, because I wanted to see what she would have worn. You look fine, though, Russell. Carry on! ## NFL player Dak Prescott ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813478318_master-1499966116.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player Dak Prescott attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Heather usually writes about NFL players and athletes who are not swimmers or figure-skaters, but she is in Italy right now (although she is still working a bit because she is a treasure) and so I apologize in advance for not having a ton of NFL wisdom to lay on you all in this post. If the ESPYs had been all baseball, I would have been able to hang much, much better, but all of America's baseball players are busy getting ready to go back to work after the All Star Break. HOWEVER: I love this blazer. ## Jesse Palmer ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813466204_master-1499965953.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: TV personality Jesse Palmer attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I cannot tell if that is an errant beam of sunlight, or if Jesse Palmer has decided that frosted tips are back. ## NHL player P.K. Subban ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813478390_master-1499966151.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NHL player P.K. Subban attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) This is very creative. I can imagine this on all the groomsmen at a very styled beach wedding. Props to him for braving the linen pant. ## Draya Michele and NFL player Orlando Scandrick ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813476844_master-1499966002.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: TV personality Draya Michele and NFL player Orlando Scandrick attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) This is awesome. I am not being sarcastic. I love that Orlando Scandrick wore a pink suit, and his pocket square is great. I also love the name "Orlando Scandrick," because he sounds like a Shakespearean character who gets really annoyed if the iamic pentameter is off. ## NBA player Dewayne Dedmon ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813482240_master-1499966189.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player Dewayne Dedmon attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I GET this, like, as a style choice, but in practice it kind of looks like he got to his pants and was like, "ugh, whatever." ## NFL player DeSean Jackson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813482276_master-1499966230.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player DeSean Jackson attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I also love this. It's appropriately formal but still feels laid back. ## Laila Ali and Curtis Conway ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813483096_master-1499966324.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: Boxer Laila Ali and former NFL player Curtis Conway attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I forgot they were married! Here, they kind of look like they're going to a wedding, in fact. ## Olympic snowboarder Shaun White ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813476822_master-1499965967.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: Olympic snowboarder Shaun White attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) He looks totally fine -- good, even -- but I mostly continued to be amused by the way Shaun has started styling himself as if he might be the douchy dude in a rom-com. ## NFL player Jay Ajayi ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813482994_master-1499966310.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player Jay Ajayi attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) This awesome blazer is like a salute to the Chrystler Building. ## NFL Player Richard Sherman ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813543438-1499970114.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player Richard Sherman attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I feel like Richard Sherman's blazer and Jay Ajayi's blazers are distant cousins. (This one is good, too.) ## NBA player Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813489744_master-1499966345.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player Steph Curry (R) and Ayesha Curry attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Steph looks boring (but fine), primarily because I assume he and Ayesha decided that tonight he would just act as the sartorial background for her jumpsuit. ## Devonta Freeman ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813489814_master-1499966361.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player Devonta Freeman attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Matching your shoes to your blazer takes COMMITMENT. Also, Informative Caption told me that Devonta is an NBA player. NOT ACCURATE. He plays for the Falcons, you guys. And his Twitter caption this look thusly: "I'm so groovy." I cannot argue with that. ## Jeremy Renner ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813490230_master-1499966375.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: Actor Jeremy Renner attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Jeremy Renner, promoting...something. He looks sort of smarmy in velvet. ## Michael Phelps ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813488630_master-1499966335.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) Michael Phelps is getting ready to race a shark on Shark Week (or has perhaps already raced the shark as I don't know if he's doing it live). As one does. Anyway, he looks fine! I'm still not used to seeing him in this many clothes. ## Nikki Bella and John Cena ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813491918_master-1499966429.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: Wrestler Nikki Bella and actor/wrestler John Cena attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) John Cena, whom I love, always looks like he's your CPA who's about to rip his jacket open to reveal his secret superhero identity. ## NBA player Nerlens Noel ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813490358_master-1499966388.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player Nerlens Noel attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) I appreciate how the blue in his blazer flips to become the blue stripe down the side of his trousers. This is, sincerely, one of my favorite events of the year to cover. These men always look so good. Dear Actors: YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SO BORING. ## NBA player Russell Westbrook and Nina Earl ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813491022_master-1499966401.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player Russell Westbrook (R) and Nina Earl attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) RUSSELL, MY DEAR FELLOW UCLA BRUIN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? These pants are ridic on him. He looks so triangular in them. YOUR LEGS DESERVE BETTER, RUSSELL. ## NFL player Terrell Suggs ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813492050_master-1499966441.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NFL player Terrell Suggs (R) and guest attend The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) This is good, this is good -- although Terrell's pants might be a HAIR too big? ## NBA player D'Angelo Russell ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/GettyImages-813491532_master-1499966416.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 12: NBA player D'Angelo Russell attends The 2017 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images) With the exception of the shoes, I would literally wear this entire outfit myself. Cute stylish camo pants, a nice floaty cardigan? Sold. ## NFL Player AJ Bouye ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31926510-1499969878.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: AJ Bouye Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com Jaunty! Next time, AJ, take all your stuff out of your pockets before you take your pics. (I do enjoy much STUFF he's got in there.) ## NFL player Brandon Marshall ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31926518-1499969892.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Brandon Marshall Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com Brandon ALSO has a lot of stuff in his pockets. This is the curse of the slim-fit pant for a man. This also seems like a good slide to point out that a lot of men are eschewing socks (which, you're not supposed to wear socks with shoes like these, so they're correct). ## NBA Player DeAndre Jordan ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31926534-1499969904.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: DeAndre Jordan Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com If I were DeAndre, I might have done up one more button? However, while we're talking about shoes: I want these for myself. Seriously. ## NBC Player Devin Booker ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31926536-1499969924.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Devin Booker Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com "NO ONE TOLD ME WE WERE MOSTLY WEARING SUITS." Having said that, this is a VERY well-styled casual dude look. If you didn't recognize him, I think could tell you he was in a boy band and you'd believe me. ## NFL Player Jason Pierre-Paul ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31926551-1499969939.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Jason Pierre-Paul Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com JPP looks v. handsome. [He had a terrible accident in 2015 with some fireworks that injured his hand horribly](https://www.si.com/nfl/2016/04/12/jason-pierre-paul-giants-fireworks-destroyed-hand-exclusive?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io); it is AMAZING that he is still playing. ## Baseball played Prince Fielder ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927061-1499969960.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Prince Fielder Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com Prince went for the classic tux; in absense of much to discuss about his sartorial choices, I have to say that "Prince Fielder" is maybe the world's best name if you're going to be a baseball player. ## NFL Player Trey Flowers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927069-1499969973.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Trey Flowers Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com For one second, my eyes played a trick on me, and I thought Trey's tie was PAINTED onto his shirt. It is not. ## NBA Player Troy Daniels ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927072-1499970014.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Troy Daniels Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com I might have done a gold shoe, Troy! ## Aaron Rodgers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927266-1499970033.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Aaron Rodgers Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com Aaron Rodgers IS Aaron Rodgers in *Aaron Rodgers: Sure!* ## NBA Player Andre Drummond ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927272-1499970047.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Andre Drummond Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com This blazer reminds me of [one Mahershala Ali wore during the last awards season](../../your-midday-ish-man-mahershala-ali-is-hot-hot-graffiti-01-2017); it's good. ## NFL Player Andrew Hawkins ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927273-1499970068.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Andrew Hawkins Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com This seems like a very good place to note that Andrew Hawkins is soooo handsome. ## Eddie George ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2017/07/wenn31927308-1499970083.jpg) The 2017 ESPY Awards at Microsoft Theater - Arrivals Featuring: Eddie George Where: Los Angeles, California, United States When: 12 Jul 2017 Credit: Eugene Powers/WENN.com Eddie looks totally handsome and also this is a good way for me to shoehorn my favorite fun-fact about him, which is that he once played Billy Flynn on Broadway in *Chicago* [The Dudes of the ESPYsThank you for taking some sartorial risks, Athletes of the World!![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2017/07/espysdudes-1499967285.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-dudes-of-the-espys-07-2017/)
