The makeup is perfect for the dress, and the night. I mostly really like the naughty, delicate robe idea, too. I didn't realize immediately how potentially grievously SHORT it is, but you know what, it's lovely and it's dramatic and has an edge to it without screaming its head off at everyone. A nice way to play the evening. Does it need more of a statement shoe, though -- or even the same one but in another color?
I LOVE the back.
For my money, Kate is the underappreciated Mara sister -- and also, here, the underserved one. Her face and hair look fantastic, and the color is nice. I dig the idea of the bodice, but maybe not quite where it's sitting. I think the skirt, at that length and volume, makes her look like she belongs glued to somebody's dashboard, wiggling her hips every time they brake hard or make a sharp turn. And I wish the whole thing were more flattering to her. I just kind of want a do-over, Project Runway style, where the designer gets all the sketches and materials back and is told to try again.
