Dianna Agron

Let's start with Dianna. Despite her dress suffering a bit from the car ride over -- sitting is such a fashion buzzkill sometimes -- I think this is beautiful on her, and I'm pretty much overjoyed to see her wearing a color that I cherish so much. (I wonder how Christina Hendricks would look in this.)

Greta Gerwig

Stunning color. Shimmery, luxe fabric. And the back of the dress is delicately draped open. Too bad the front looks like awkwardly finished chest surgery.

Lena Dunham

This dress has nothing going for it but the color. It doesn't fit her particularly well. The pocket-jamming and stance are throwing off the entire line, so it's sitting crookedly on her body in a way that's very distracting. Allegedly this is by Wes Gordon; if it was anything other than Wes Gordon for David's Bridal and cost anything more than $99, it was a scam.

Lena Dunham and Hamish Bowles

Having said that, i LOVE her shoes, which apparently Hamish paired with the dress at the last minute after spying them in her closet. They're a great touch (and apt for a Schiapiarelli exhibit). And LOOK AT HAMISH. That jacket is the jam. And do his shoes have eyes? Are they watching me? Are they peeping up the hems of unsuspecting ladies? Oh, Hamish, you delicious rake.

Lena Dunham

Here is Exhibit A for why petite ladies should either a) not wear mullet dresses, or b) not allow anyone to get a side shot of them. This angle cuts about two feet from Dunham's stature. It almost distracts me from the fact that her arm tat looks like gangrene. ALMOST.

Met Ball Fugs and Fabs: Greens
You may not care about Dianna Agron from Glee, nor Greta Gerwig from stuff I haven't seen but which people keep saying she's good in so whatever; nor Lena Dunham from Girls. But you DO care about Vogue's Hamish Bowles and his exuberant jacket, so join me in ogling these lovely-colored dresses -- which are, in order, good, meh, and blah -- and then let out a whoop when we get to him. The only thing that would make it better is if he'd retained the jaunty mustache that made him look like an olde-timey flim-flam artist and/or a man who rides one of those bikes with one ginormous front wheel and a teeny one in the back. The best. I mourn it. [Photos: Getty]
