I love this. For another party entirely. (We are, in fact, doing a slideshow later for Things We Love For Another Party Entirely, but the LV situation couldn't wait.)

This looks like someone sneezed on an old photo of Brian Boitano from the 1988 Olympics and thought, "YES! I'VE DONE IT!" There are cool aspects, but to me it's too disconnected from what we're doing here. I understand the theme isn't mandatory, and sometimes a great dress that doesn't adhere is still the winner of the night, but for my money this is neither.

And the ponytail nubbin can go. (PLEASE tell me it is not a silver twist-tie, like you would see on a bag of hot dog buns, holding it together.)

From the waist down, she is doing something I'd like to see at a fancy premiere. From the waist up, a very cruel arranged marriage is happening between two other ideas that bitterly dislike each other and wish Anna would throw them all out.

I don't dislike this, necessarily. It's dramatic, and better than a lot of what LV gives her, though any remote ties to a priest's or nun's vestments are just that. REMOTE AT BEST. Also: Why the eye-makeup? What is that even doing here?

"What a nice vintage nightgown this is for, say, an Oscar pre-party," I thought to myself.

And then from the side, suddenly there's a wackadoo ruffle trying to spread its tentacles all over her chest. I wish it wasn't there.

I like that neckline a lot, but not the chunky waistband. And next time, don't come straight from yoga, Riley.

I mean... I can't find the relevance here. I am reaching, but my Catholic imagination is so taxed by this I actually owe the IRS money.

He looks totally dapper and as if he and LV BOTH were like, "Heavenly what? Nope."

Go home, kid. I fear that not even the loftiest heighs of any Catholic imagination can help you get over yourself.
