Versace is notoriously VERY adept at marrying the gala's theme to their own aesthetic and this is an EXCELLENT example of that, taking a classic Chanel fabric and marrying it to an iconic Versace moment. She looks great.

This outfit is objectively kinda not great and sort of confusing -- those leg-warmers are weird and the rest of it is basically just a sheet -- but she does look really cool in it?

This is very dramatic and it's somewhat unusual for man to sport a train at the Met. Although maybe this is more like a very long stole? Either way, he looks nifty in this. (That's a commonly accepted fashion term.)

Olivia Wilde in Chloe

This is based on a vintage Chloe, which I believe they reconstructed. (Don't ask me why they're reconstructing things and not just wearing the vintage pieces, but perhaps the originals are too fragile.) Someone on Twitter joked that it was a big night "for Guitar Center" and I cannot top that. (Although I don't technically even dislike this entirely.)

This is absolutely fine, although also she could have just worn her wedding gown if she wanted to wear a white Valentino. Also: Sustainable!

Those white hose and low-heeled white shoes are giving me PTSD flashbacks to, like, middle school Easter looks and I do NOT need to revisit THAT trend. The Big Feathered Coat is very fun, though; I wish it had been styled differently. (Shout-out to the Met's beautiful security dog back there, too. What a good dog!!!)

Ben Platt in Wiederhoeft

I just read a whole thing about how he's amazing in Parade, which apparently is terrific and will emotionally traumatize you, so get ready to see him again at the Tonys, likely wearing something irksome that I find similarly annoying.

And they obviously look gorgeous, although I agree with the Fug National who recently pointed out that Idris looks weird without his facial hair. (Still extremely foine though, of course.)

First of all, some of the lighting in some of these shots was bad, which is weird. This Met had a lot of unusual technical issues this year. Second: This feels....quite major and good on her? She WENT for it.
