The '80s are here, giving us all a concussion. I did think blowing the bubbles -- with gum, rather than her actual gown -- was amusing, in the way it played off the geometry of the outfit. But only in certain photos.

In others it looked like she had a condom on her tongue.

I enjoyed this angle. And while I have said before how BORED I am with HER calculated red-carpet ennui, I do think that expression juxtaposed with the loud, playful outfit is amusing.

She said her dress was made from 100 other ones from the twenties, thirties, and forties, and I am torn because while the effect is interesting, it makes me sad if they took actual wearable vintage garments and ripped them up. That might be a Pretty In Pink level tragedy. They stuck on beads, diamonds, chunks of tin... it works better than it should. Art-as-Craft-Project.

She also had a crystal ear. As you do. I hope everyone spoke to her from the left.

This doesn't do much for me; I'm sure it's impossible to have been last-minute, but it almost feels that way. I don't see the inspiration. Blake told Lala Anthony that her purse was painted by her kids so that she was carrying some fashion art with her to keep them close; she looked and sounded EXTREMELY nervous, which may have been down to the Baldoni settlement being announced earlier. It must have been a weird day.

It is effective from above, mostly? It most resembles a child's dress-up drawer when it's been unloaded all over the playroom floor. She LOVES a huge gown and I respect that, but this didn't captivate me.
