The theme was Superheroes, so maybe she was Captain Sustainable. This was "American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity," and I guess is... a tribute to pants? Zzz. I like this on her and kinda wish she'd bust it out for something else soon. This is less polished, but also it was 14 years ago, so. I'm not buying. But it seems very daytime to me; that's my primary note here. This was the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination gala, and I don't think they got past "heavenly bodies." \[WAIT someone reminded me that a mantilla is not just a veil but has an actual link to prayer, which I totally forgot. So it counts! I kept saying by way of Spencer’s Gifts, but no one got it." She DEFINITELY did not get Joan and definitely DID get Liz.
