I knew this had to be Chanel, and it is. The robe is beautiful on him -- he's a very stylish guy. I don't know what he's referencing, if anything, but the apple purse (?) he's clutching must have a reason for being?

I liked it a bit better when he just kept the coat belted.

Angela Bassett in Prabal Gurung

This is a reference to Laura Wheeler Waring's Girl In Pink Dress, although Angela joked that her version is "a soft nod to an aging body." Angela, your body be banging. Unfortunately, Prabal didn't fit it correctly. What a comedown after last year's triumph.

Carey Mulligan in Prada

This is great -- a standard Prada cut that they made way less boring with a funky print. I am extremely on board with Carey splashing into color.

Suki Waterhouse in Michael Kors

This is a gorgeous dress on her, but for the theme, it's fairly lazy Grecian vibes. I'd probably take looking this hot over being on-theme, personally.

Angel Reese

As they say: Go girl, give us nothing.

Amanda Seyfried in Prada

This is somehow both fine AND bland. I guess "fine" IS often also bland. My friend always says, "I'm not in the 'fine' business," and here I think Prada absolutely IS. Pretty for the Oscars and the Emmys, but not really a WHOLE lot of effort for the Met.

Maria Zardoya

She is the lead singer of the Marias, and also possibly a walking horror movie.

Chase Sui Wonders in McQueen

This is a letdown for her first Met, and one at which she's a Host Committee member. It's a glorified nightie. It's as if someone pulled strings to get her the designer pairing, and she felt like she had to do it no matter what. Bummer.

Camila Morrone in Tory Burch

I didn't realize this is baby pink until I saw her standing next to Laufey, who wore Tory in white. Camila typically loves black and/or white and this isn't THAT different from her MO. Tory did a nice job with it, but again... why here and now?

It IS striking, though.
