Angela, you still rule, but Prabal did you dirty on the sizing here. The makeup doesn't help.
Beyonce in custom Olivier Rousteing

It was just... a letdown. Not for nothing, TECHNICALLY "Fashion Is Art" was the dress code, not any of the stuff from the "Costume Art" exhibit pertaining to the body. While loads of people played it loose with that, as a co-chair, I'd think she's in here because it's executed poorly, it's unflattering, and it looked best only in the photos where you can't actually see it.
Cardi B in Marc Jacobs

This is referencing "The Doll," and I can see it, but I also think... it's still very unpleasant and the pastel splotches are wonky. And it looks like lace intestines.
Chloe Malle in Colleen Allen

Chloe may have been referencing this painting, but -- similarities to Michelle Williams' famous Oscars gown aside -- it's just very limp and uninspiring, which for the de facto head of Vogue is a real bummer. There is probably a reason Anna never follows her own dress code.
Elizabeth Debicki in Vera Wang

Why does anyone work with Vera Wang anymore?!? (Also, with regards to this special tiara nobody could see... you can still barely see it.)
Gigi Hadid in Miu Miu

She congratulated herself on sticking the decals on herself, but like... that's 4 percent of this outfit and the rest is terrible. Also, where ELSE were you going to put them?!? Also, the seams are so intrusive. Just terrible.
Hudson Williams in Balenciaga

This is sloppy tailoring. He's TRYING to elevate with a black swan/white swan makeup gimmick, and I appreciate the effort, but Balenciaga really let him down. The original sketch only highlights the problems. The PANTS. Who measured him?!?
Irina Shayk in Alexander Wang

You saw the low-energy, low-effort metallic bra from the front; now you can see she barely kept her crack covered.

This is like an SNL sketch.
Katy Perry in Stella McCartney

Katy came as her own "AI image" -- which she called "very thought-provoking" -- by wearing a glove with six finger. And a mask symbolizing that perception of others can mirror perception of yourself. She put a whole explanation on Instagram full of ruminations about "are we outsourcing our truth" and... why does her train look like it was on fire? Thud.
Kendall Jenner in GapStudio

Don't love the fabric, don't love the dingy color, don't love the boob squirting out; the wings made things MORE interesting, partially, but they still looked cheap on the bottom AND she didn't even wear them on the red carpet.
Kylie Jenner in Schiaparelli

Some of you liked this better than I did -- the concept is "UNDRESSED," a gown being removed -- but in addition to the perspective being off (the "top," if she tried to put it on would come up to her navel), it just looked awkward and heavy and miserable to wear.
Lisa in Robert Wun

I cannot go on this journey with you, Lisa. Be well.

There's a germ of an idea here that might work, but at the (rear) end of the day, this is a butt basket.
Rachel Zegler in Prabal Gurung

She is referencing "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey," which is a downer to begin with, but then she walked around all night looking pained. As if performing the portrait. Which... I GET it, but... I don't like it. Also the dress itself is underwhelming. We don't need Sexy Execution of Jane Grey, surely.

Credit to her for pulling off the color, but credit to no one for a bland design.
Simone Ashley in Stella McCartney

I need to program my computer so that if I hit a button, it types, "Simone Ashley deserves better."
Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent

Zoe and Anthony Vaccarello (the Saint Laurent designer) co-chaired the Host Committee, but this made a weak statement. It's not her USUAL sheer shit -- that would be something much more streamlined, and more bare -- but it's still sheer and it's still black/neutral, and I just wish we'd see something more creative on her, especially on a night where there is a WIDE SWATH of ways to go big.
