We didn't love this -- partly because our first experience with it was seeing her grimacing and tapping her ribcage in line -- but a LOT of our commenters were hot for it, so we felt it deserved a shot here. It's at least eye-catching; she never disappeared into the crowd.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph in Zac Posen/Gap

You could tell Da'Vine felt comfortable and celebrated in this dress, and BY this dress. This is a TREMENDOUS advertisement for Zac Posen, and for The Gap under his stewardship -- not because we expect him to make stuff like this, obviously, but because it reminds everyone what he's up to and will make us all sit up and take note of what he does there.

Demi Moore in Harris Reed

VINTAGE WALLPAPER. I have no idea how it looked in person, obviously, but in photos you'd never guess.

Elle Fanning in Balmain

I tried to pick a photo here that shows that the dress IS a bit sheer, but in a way that a) plays seamlessly with the aesthetic, and b) doesn't actually show anything racy. It's not sheer for shock value. I think she looks superb in it, and Olivier Rousteing impressed me with his creativity. Ultimately this worked better for me than Tyla's sand gown.

Gabrielle Union in Michael Kors

This ended up being in tune with the carpet -- but, the pretty version. I think this is spectacular on her and beautifully designed and made.

Gigi Hadid in Thom Browne

This was so well-crafted; inside, she took off the big skirt and from the hips down it just became a white column. But it's perfect on the stairs, and so impactful; I like when Thom Browne uses his creativity to make beautiful, flattering things, not just costumey things.

Gustav Magnar Witzoe

I have been obsessed with this, and how much he looks like he should be James Marsden in a tongue-in-cheek period movie.

Jeremy Strong in Loro Piana

I often knock Jeremy's suits, so I wanted to give him credit here for a fantastic choice -- the close-up, I chose to show off that amazing detail on his lapel. It's a personal best for sure. (I think the mustache is for "Enemy of the State," on Broadway.)

This is SO good. It's beautiful but there's an aura of menace to those vines snaking around her, which seems apt to the short story.

So, I agree with everyone's note on the hair not working, but the gown is so gorgeous -- and she so often misses there for me -- that I wanted to give it the credit it deserves. I keep wishing I reach in and spike that hair and punk it up, or something.

I really think this meets the brief of extravagance with hints of decay -- and I think she's the host who tried the hardest (Bad Bunny was close behind) to serve the major moments Anna typically expects from her anointed ones. Like, Chris Hemsworth, my dude... don't take the assignment if you don't want to do it?!? Anyway, after an INCREDIBLY busy two months of clothes, I appreciate that she and Law still had this much energy left.
