Let's all just take deep breaths and remember the year Donna Karan put Nina Dobrev in this beauty, and bleach this out of our brains.
I just had this long and insane conversation with Jessica about how this reminds me of a bunchy fabric thing in a fussy old lady's salon that matches the drapes and covers up the cord on the blinds underneath. Except that's not ENTIRELY what I am really thinking of; I'm really just picturing SOMETHING that has a fabric sleeve over it, maybe a mechanism of some kind, and then we BOTH decided that I am talking CRAZY because I'm tired. So let's just call this Bunchy Sheathy Thing.
I actually think this is fun. Of all the Chanel that's been going around, I'll definitely take this one.
I'm unmoved. She has one of the best bods around and this dress is trying really hard to negate that.
She looks fine. HE looks like he won her in a poker game.
That's a cool outfit, but again, for another event ENTIRELY. Proenza isn't really a ballgown kind of line; this feels like they were like, "Ugh, I guess we should still have SOMETHING on display there..."
This is either an older Marchesa piece, or a callback to one. The color is phenomenal, and I like it better than I expected to, considering the top also looks like an ornate valance.
Psst. The Rose Parade is on New Year's Day. In California.
I love that Anna's daughter is in a dress that's WAY more in keeping with the theme Anna herself set. This one looks hilariously like it's laying an egg.
And Anna herself. A lot of people REALLY hated this. But Anna Wintour was never going to show up in a giant Marchesa-style ball gown. I feel like this is as poofy and dramatic as she was EVER going to get, so the concept of the theme -- any theme -- is almost moot when it comes to her. She's the playground monitor: She sets the rules, and then just wants to sit back and see who follows them. And the dress looks like someone decided they didn't like the playground monitor and graffiti'd her while she was napping.
I don't have a designer credit on Hannah's dress, but I DO want to be the kind of fancy person who could use it on the walls of my downstairs quarter-bath.
