This skirt ALMOST looks like those fibre-optic Christmas trees. You know the ones I mean. They light up in different colors when you brush up against them? I swear that is a compliment, especially for this event. Per that VF article, "Welch explains that Lorde’s look plays into the “manus” element of the exhibition's dialogue between handwork and machine-made fashion. The dress comes from Valentino's Fall 2016 ballet-themed collection; the storied Italian house is celebrated for its emphasis on hand-done craftsmanship."

She looks SO BUMMED OUT in this pic -- I am sorry, Lorde, for downloading one in which you seem to have just realized how many damn steps you have to climb to get into this party. Also: while I actually dig the 70s Disco Ballet vibe of her bodice, it might be a wee bit too big on her? I feel like that leotard action needs to be super-tight?
