Blake Lively in Thom Browne

Well, I ASSUME the coat here is Thom Browne; the dress underneath it is, though they did not come down the runway together. I'm not sure what the vest ADDS to this, exactly, except extra weight. That sleeve belongs to the dress beneath it...

And indeed, later in the evening -- on her way out of dinner -- she had ditched the vest anyway. Perhaps she had been warmed by candlelight, or a really expensive digestif. I know Blake's hair is her signature, but I'd have put it back here. It's a bit discordant with the dress and it's competing with it. (Also, is this the Thom Browne version of a tuxedo t-shirt?)

Vanessa Hudgens in Oscar de la Renta

She looks fabulous. I know the point is to go big at the Gala, but she was doing interviews, and her dress was so bad, that I really wish she'd worn this instead.

Eva Chen (in Jonathan Cohen) and Tom Bannister

I LOVE this dress on Eva. I also liked the other two things she wore -- a Dior and a Brandon Maxwell, both in this post -- better than her actual Met gown. Three out of four ain't bad.

Kacey Musgraves

I assume this is also Thom Browne? It looks like a lead apron at a very exclusive boutique health clinic.

Leslie Odom Jr

He looks splendid in yellow.

Janicza Bravo in Thom Browne

Canoes. That's what the soles of those shoes remind me of: walking on canoes.

There Was Also a Pre-Met Gala Dinner, and Blake Lively Went For It

Sartorially, though she also did go to have the meal.
