Much like how Ralph Lauren knocked me flat by putting Lupita in a cape, he managed to make me appreciate a hood on Anne Hathaway. Much like Lupita's (except with less exceptional limo survival skills), it's a basic, striking gown with an unexpected element that gives it a successful twist. And she kind of looks like she might be seen skulking around the Tatooine desert rehabilitating young whipper-snappers who upset the sand people. May the Fourth be with her INDEED.

I rather love how the hood looks from the back, too. It catches the light neatly.

And, I just thought we should give her husband props for working the cream tux jacket AND matching his pocket square to her.

As is so usual with this lovely lady, I find that the idea of this is more delectable than the exact execution. It's a smidge too tight, per usual. Whoever does her tailoring just consistently cannot hit the marks.

This is really very pretty and intricate work, and of course her bod is the one you'd want wrapped in it. She can SELL.

This hair and headpiece are sad to me, though. I want to like her head jewels, but they look too much like she wore them to the gym first and some of the pins fell out and they're sliding off, off, off.

... Sure. It's fine. It's not really adjacent to any kind of statement, but it's not rotten. I have never thought this before, by the way, but in this photo she looks like young Elizabeth Perkins to me.

Get ready for this scintillating analysis: If this were longer, sized properly, and perhaps also just designed in a totally new way, I might love it. WELL DONE, HEATHER. But I like the material; just not the way it fits in general, and so my jury is out on the bodice because it's hard to gauge how it intends to look.
I would have given that heavy cat-eye liner a miss, though, girl. On a night where EVERYONE was on alert for misappropriation and offensive accidents, it is just not worth the misunderstanding.

... I mean, at least his pants are where they're supposed to be.
