My take on it now, which I think is partially about her haircut, is "I'd love to see this on Judi Dench." You can't see it here, but the back of the bodice is flesh-toned, which I didn't love, and also 2012 was really Peak Peplum Time and I was definitely Peplumed Out. In the fullness of time, I actually think this is pretty great. I think that's because Michelle was VERY twee, sartorially, in 2011 -- MANY Peter Pan collars -- and by the time we got to the Oscars, I think I'd just had it. Now, I sort of dig it.
