This year's Academy Museum of Motion Pictures gala honored Rita Moreno, Quentin Tarantino, and Paul Mescal -- none of whom are in this slideshow; we'll get to them later -- and as usual it was a HUGE shindig rivaling the Oscars themselves in terms of the number of famous faces in fancy clothes. To lead off our coverage, here are the vintage and archival pulls, which I think was a great idea for an event thrown at a museum that itself celebrates history and has more than a few Oscar dresses and costumes on display. Having said that, it will not shock you that two Kardashian/Jenners chose Mugler and that I am not a huge fan of either. But I WAS surprised -- and pleased! -- to see Mindy Kaling, Kaia Gerber, and Rooney Mara joining in the fray. These houses have massive archives; please DO use them, everyone.
