Kim and Khloe

So, LOADS of people dress for these things in ways I do not understand, so it's absolutely not just a Kardashian thing. However, I cannot imagine spending a hot summer day walking around a massive sporting event - and she DID walk a lot - and being in a throng of engineers (she stood with Ferrari during the podium) and hanging out in Pit Lane wearing a long flowing white dress and heels. Or a tight white dress, or open shoes with my toes out and available to be stomped on (or spilled on).

People dress way up for Lakers games and even Dodgers games, too, and I don't get it. I want to be comfortable, especially because my surroundings are naturally grimy, but you do you, Kimbo. It would have been awesome if she'd turned around and had a huge motor oil stain on her. Or a greasy handprint, AHEM, LEWIS.

Khloe and Kim

This outfit seems at least MORE practical due to being jeans, even though it is also fully boudoir inspired. Rev your engines INDEED. Also, Khloe, WATCH YOUR TOES, this is giving me anxiety. I'm sure no one came near her but why risk it?!? Signed, someone who hates flip-flops.

Alexandra Leclerc

She married Lewis's teammate Charles, and looks very fancy as well, if at least in something that seems a BIT more likely to hide dirt and exhaust and everything else.

Eileen Gu and Kimi Antonelli

These seems a little more normal, but again, what happened to sneakers? Your'e at a racetrack, girl!!! Sidebar: I hope Louis Vuitton, perennial sponsor of both F1 and Eileen Gu, is trying to set them up. He's about to be 20 and she's 22... it's not infeasible.

Olivia Wilde

See, Olivia understands.

Alexandra Leclerc

But, Alexandra has been around the garages way longer than I have -- for me it's exactly zero days -- and she's still dressing for a cocktail party, so what do I know.

Shaun White

I like that all these people are in summer white, and here's Shaun in black. However, he can sweat through this if need be, no problem. Sit on the car! Bump into a tire! Borrow a wrench! No one will know! Practical!

Cynthia Erivo

This also seems super reasonable, even WITH the big blocky shoes.

Hoyeon Jung

As she is not dating one of the drivers, I assume she at least got whisked to a luxury suite and her peachy day dress was unmarred.

Patrick Dempsey

I always forget Dempsey is a racing obsessive. He is still so good-looking that it's almost bizarre that he dropped out of the public eye for as long as he did, before Grey's.

Lindsey Vonn

My first thought was, "IS THIS GOOD FOR YOUR LEG," as if she doesn't have a team of doctors weighing in on this and probably also back in her hotel room just in case.

Simone Murphy

... Is this the Coachella of motor racing?

Eileen Gu

Throw in some sneakers, maybe with platform soles, and those pants might not get as dirty as they're about to. This looks super comfy, though. AND still polished. It can be done.

Michael Douglas, CZJ

THANK YOU, CATHY ZETA. She is showing the way.

Terry Crews

Do we think doctors advised Terry to stop jumping?!?

And one left with a boyfriend on the podium.
