This dress struck me interesting at first, but then my gaze traveled down, it started to feel like an ode to a very dirty doctor's office fish tank. Also: I keep misreading this backdrop as "Keurig," as if the coffee machine maker is sponsiring a Cannes party. Honestly, Nespresso has Intern George cavorting around in its ads, so that isn't AS far-fetched as it sounds, but still.

This outfit feels like a parody of an outfit that is, itself, a parody.

This is a lot groovier, but she also feels like she's in some kind of Legally Blonde remake about being a lab tech.

She has really brought the cheerful sartorial lunacy this month.

I love 90 percent of this, but the fit of the top is too big, right? By a sizable margin?

Emily is not new to acting, but she IS new to GFY. Her movie is Little Joe, about a scientist who is developing new plant breeds and breaks the rules to give her son one. Horror ensues. I wish I liked what I could see of the bodice's fit, but her skirt sure looks comfortable -- perfect to hide under while she's watching a scary movie about murder plants.

Construction on this seems a bit slipshod.

I like this, though. Capelets for all.

Leyna, the first openly transgender woman to appear in Vogue India, is also making history as the first trans woman of color to headline a movie at Cannes (Port Authority). I love this slinky colorful gown. It's perfect.

This is a bit of a patchy pastel floof-fest, but if you can't try that out when you're making history at Cannes, when CANNES you. HAR. (I think I make one of those shitty puns every year, for which I half-heartedly apologize.)

I mostly really like this, but the black skirt seems a little harsh next to that short delicate bodice.

And this is the opposite problem, although I like the idea of it and I think I just inadvertantly got a photo where the flashes were too hot.

Is sideboob-venting considered a desirable feature now? Like Bluetooth, or Alexa-compatibility?
