These two aren't just drinking each other in; they're chugging. Also, the shallow, shallow truth of all this is that between Meghan and Kate, there are some REALLY good legs coming into the bloodline.

This is what was gathered just over the hedge. In the videos, where you hear hooting and cheering, this is whence it came. From what I understand, a Fug National may have been in this throng, to which I say: BRING US YOUR TALES. (You may have already, and if I missed it, I apologize.)

I like to think of this man as the Town Crier. And I LOVE how much he digs his job.

You know how much we love behind-the-scenes and logistical stuff. Check out this fraction of all the news vans. I wonder how long they'd been gathered, given that the press was on alert since basically Thanksgiving day.

The press in action, setting up and shooting outside KP.

This is how far they were from Harry and Meghan during Ye Olde Romantic Stroll.

I love a little joviality in the press pit. We were just at something where the photogs were all setting up on the red carpet, and one of them was loudly announcing to everyone that when LeBron comes to the Lakers in a year (unofficial) and SAVES LAKER BASKETBALL (meh), everyone here will EAT THEIR WORDS about him.

Informative caption tells us, "Designer Joanne works on souvenir mugs commemorating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal engagement at Emma Bridgwater in Stoke." Congratulations, Joanne, on your hard work and on spelling everything correctly.

Because THIS mug artisan did NOT.

It's nice to see the Brits can still whip up a whimsical frenzy.

Here are a couple front pages, beginning with the good old DMIK. I feel sort of badly for Meghan: This photo was taken while she was in the act of whirling around, and in a still frame it comes off like somethign I can only really describe as "actressy" in a way that I don't think she was at all.

I ALSO love seeing which pull quotes people chose, and find it charming that the front-page one here is from the corgi anecdote.

VERY CHEEKY, Star ("have it off" is also slang for, essentially, banging).

My favorite thing about THIS one is that it uses the same font as that epic program I Wanna Marry Harry did. By the way, those recaps are fun to revisit -- the archive is here -- and do you recall that the frontrunner (but fifth place finisher) was in fact a brunette named and spelled Meghan?OH YES.

When I first saw this, I thought they were nicknaming Harry "CABLE GUY" because he's marrying a woman whose show is on USA Network, and I LOVED IT. Cheeky and cheery. Alas, that's for another story entirely. Unless we make it happen.
