I believe this is velvet, and Tom Ford LOVES working with velvet. If Amy wants to wear sleek furry evening gowns all season, then she'll be set.

This one had gold hardware (rather than black) on the runway, and the design was slightly different. I like this adaptation better. I wondered about lopping off the sleeves, but honestly, if you do that then I don't think it has much personality. At least this way, it looks faintly evil.

I LOVE the skirt on this. Which is really actually 92 percent of the gown, so it's more than just a skirt. The bodice isn't TERRIBLE, but I'm never quite sure about turning one's boobs into a purse.

Up close the skirt looks like it's made of candy. Strangely that doesn't make me like it any less.

I suspect Amy Adams will wear Tom Ford for ALL the Nocturnal Animals events, as the movie was directed by Tom Ford. Here's a poser: What if she get an awards nomination for that AND Arrival?
