I know it's simple and unrisky and it's not trying to reinvent the way we think about fabric, or coats, or buttons, or pubic bones. And I'm fine with that. This is a gorgeous, well-made, swingy coat dress, the likes of which I think many of us would like to wear in a romantic fantasy about dashing through the streets of Paris at twilight, a light snow falling as you realize Josh Jackson has been chasing you with the scarf you dropped, and he'd really like to buy you a drink and then warm you up under the stars with some hot makeout action and then of course you're in an opulent hotel suite that you do not have to pay for, for some reason, and you're on the balcony with Champagne and this whole thing ends with twisted sheets and some very cute children. THAT is this dress. Maybe with different shoes though -- in my fantasy, I'm in higher, strappier, Sandra Bullock-style black shoes, whether that's right or wrong. I just want a touch of ass-kicker so that Pacey knows I am not to be trifled with, sir. ## Jennifer Lawrence ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/wenn20842824.xml) I don't hate this. I know the Internet says I'm supposed to, but she's young and cute and her face is great, and it's a fun change. It's just hair. It's not forever. I don't mind this one bit, and that's that. My pearls? UNCLUTCHED. ## Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/wenn20842814.xml) That is beautiful, too, and I think she styled it nicely -- the relaxed hair actually works well with it. I much prefer it to the front-cutouts and harsh yellow of the Jason Wu, although I may have been in a minority by not loving that dress. It's okay. (Right? Like he's been hit by a wrecking ball, as it were. ## Elizabeth Banks ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/wenn20840495.xml) Okay, now we're jumping back to London, because apparently there were more outfits there: For an afterparty, Elizabeth changed into this Jason Wu, with shoes I predictably think are disposable. The dress is neat and I wish it got its own showcase, instead of being the thing she threw on when she was done with the other thing, because then maybe it would've been styled with a bit more TLC. ## Elizabeth Banks ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/wenn20838404.xml) This was from a photocall earlier in the day. Never let it be said that Elizabeth Banks blows off small daytime events. It's McQueen, which you probably guessed when you saw the horny pockets, of which I am still not a particular fan because it makes a lady look like she's standing inside a matching inverted lampshade. However, it IS slimming. Not that she needs it, but inverted lampshades do make a person's waist look that much smaller my comparison. And I am feeling the shoes, too, but... look at that and tell me these aren't a half-size too big. Hope they were gratis.
