Never underestimate how much bangs and some winged eyeliner can change your face. It's not that she looks TOTALLY different or anything, but had she not been ID'd for me, I might have thought, "Wait, where do I know her from? Is it college?" Her blazer-dress is super cute on her -- this whole thing has a whiff of combining present-day with Peregrine Fisher's time period.

He looks cute in that very simple outfit. It's hard to top dreamy dreamy Detective Inspector Jack, but Detective James Steed has a way of looking at Peregrine Fisher that really melts you. It's like he can't believe someone so delightful exists and that he gets to know her, mixed with lust, mixed with trying to be stoic. It works. MAKE OUT.

Toby plays, essentially, Q on this show. (As in, the Bond Q, not Q as in the conspiracy theorist.) I didn't recognize him with a beard. Coincidentally, his wife Michaela -- not on the show -- did appear in a season 3 episode of Miss Fisher. The Fisherverse is everywhere. I love her purse.

He plays a real douchebag, and he cleans up VERY well.

This skirt... is it on backwards?

And SHE looks deliciously eccentric, much as I imagine her character would if she lived in the modern day. (On the show she runs an Adventuresses Club. If there is a spinoff, I want it to be about her life as a spy.)

Ms. Fisher's Modern Mysteries Threw a Small Premiere for Season 2
Which is better than NO premiere.
