Kristen Stewart

The thing I love most about this picture is, again, the smile. FINALLY, right before the FOURTH movie in Twilight comes out, K.Stew has figured out how either to enjoy herself, or fake like she's enjoying herself. And it makes the HUGEST difference. But let's take a close-up of the Balmain mini.

It's all safety pins. I kind of love it. In my head this came about because the designer got so freaking tired of sewing. It's very whimsical. And I think it fits her personality very well -- it's cute from a distance, and has a surprising bit of whimsy and edge up close.

Kristen Stewart

Remember when she sliced off all her hair for The Runaways, and then ran around for like six months looking like a sewer rat? Aren't you glad that phase is over? She has REALLY good hair. She should never do that again. Have your people put a wig clause in your contracts, Stew.

I mean, that looks like a freaking Seventeen cover. Nicely done, lady.

Kristen Stewart

This just makes me laugh. She both seems like a total goober, and it almost looks like her right hand is holding up her dress -- a gown full of safety pins that can't even keep itself in place. An optical illusion, I think, but it lent itself to an amusing photo. I like a little good-natured nerd in my celebs, and she definitely comes off more like that now than she did before, when it was sort of... standoffish intellectual yada-yada. Either she's gotten media coaching -- not a bad idea when you're chucked into the spotlight like she was -- or else experience really IS the best on-the-job training.

MTV Movie Awards Well Played: Kristen Stewart
Well, if you are a starlet in Hollywood who wants to wear a sparkly micro-mini, you will have to get to it through Kristen Stewart. She is a junkie for them. Finding this Balmain must have been like accidentally stealing someone's pants and then -- oops -- discovering a bump of coke in them. Although that would obviously never happen in real life. The close-up of this dress is even cooler -- kind of like Elizabeth Hurley's iconic safety-pin gown, but without the cleavage, nor the desperation. She's like a giant pincushion. Come see.
