(Photo by Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty Images) She looks very cute here and this isn't bad or anything -- Nicki loves a bridal moment -- but it's worth noting she had major issues wrangling that veil when she opened the show as host. Nicki, have someone come out and dramatically unveil you. You know this!!! ## Doja Cat in Monse ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/09/shutterstock_editorial_14094686g-1694568331.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock (14094686g) Doja Cat 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, Newark, New Jersey, USA - 12 Sep 2023 But Spooky Season doesn't start for three more weeks. ## Tinashe ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/09/GettyImages-1677047050-1694568166.jpg) NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 12: Tinashe attends the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on September 12, 2023 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for MTV) As noted: TINASHE WHAT. (There is something very cute about how her whole head is giving Cheery Elementary School Librarian and then she's got, um, labia tape? I don't know!!!!) ## Megan Thee Stallion in Brandon Blackwood, ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/09/shutterstock_editorial_14094686at-1694568318.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock (14094686at) Megan Thee Stallion 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Arrivals, Newark, New Jersey, USA - 12 Sep 2023 She looks very pretty in this, sheer or otherwise, but I agree with some internet commentary that it might be a bit boring compared to her usual. The DIAMONDS aren't boring though. ## Tiffany Haddish in Jason Wu ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/09/GettyImages-1676948928-1694568071.jpg) NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 12: Tiffany Haddish attends the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on September 12, 2023 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by Jason Kempin/Getty Images for MTV) I would NOT have guessed this was Jason Wu, whose work is always very ladylike and who showed this on the runway with a thigh-length slip as the underpinning. I guess I can see how that wouldn't feel very VMAs? ## Tiffany Haddish in Jason Wu ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/09/GettyImages-1676979929-1694568111.jpg) NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 12: Tiffany Haddish attends the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at Prudential Center on September 12, 2023 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by ANGELA WEISS / AFP) (Photo by ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images) Honestly, compared to a lot of this slideshow, this feels fresh and simple and great.
