Cynthia Erivo in Loewe

She's in a version of this dress (I might like the original better). I think these hems look better when they're... floatier? Or just in motion, period? Then again, she looks a bit like she's hovering and that would be appropriate for a witch, so maybe it IS secretly Elphaba-coded.

Ariana Grande

I mean. It's fine? It feels like a refried version of Anne Hathaway's pink Oscars dress from the year she won. Which was ALSO a snore.

Elle Fanning

This has a whiff of Rich Dilettante about it, in a way that I enjoy on Elle.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole looks very nice. She loves dresses like this, which don't seem like much from the front...

... but then take a plunge in the back.

Michelle Yeoh

This is okay, I guess. It's the National Board of Review; she probably didn't think too hard about it.

Mikey Madison in custom Louis Vuitton

Someone ordered this! On purpose!

Marianne Jean-Baptiste

Her movie "Hard Truths" has a lot of positive buzz, although she might be on the outside looking in when it comes to the Oscars. I like this dress a lot -- simple but interesting, and certainly elegant.

Kieran Culkin

I didn't mean to get two photos of Kieran, but I did. So here we have him just straight-up wearing his very interesting color combo...

... and here we have him modeling for J.Crew.

Daniel Craig

It's TRYING to be an ascot, I think? It has aspirations.

Sofia Coppola

I assume that's Chanel? She's selling it.

Jeremy Pope

This handsome man could as easily be at the hairdresser about to get a trim, but he ALSO is selling it.

Arian Moayed

"And me????"

Drew Starkey

I keep mixing him up with Harris Dickinson, who is in Babygirl. Drew is the one in Queer. And he even helpfully bleached his hair so that I will have an easier time, but it didn't work.

Christine Baranski

She soothes me. The O.G. broad with whom to have drinks!

Ethan Slater

Oooh, he slicked up his suit a little.

John Lithgow, Isabella Rossellini, and Ralph Fiennes

They won for Conclave's ensemble, which IS truly excellent. I didn't know Lithgow and Stanley Tucci were even in it until I started watching. Of COURSE Tucci is in it. Tucci is in everything.

June Squibb

JUNE SQUIBB FOR ALL THE THINGS. I hope she gets nominated. I haven't seen enough of the awards movies to have a real opinion, but of the ones I've seen -- Babygirl, Wicked, Nickel Boys, Conclave, A Real Pain, Emilia Perez -- I think Thelma delighted and surprised me the most thoroughly.

The Nat'l Board of Review Says "Wicked" Is Best Picture

And Nicole Kidman is their best actress.
