I feel like, if you're a celebrity, it might be kind of hard to dress for the National Book Awards, because you kinda want to look INTELLECTUAL but you also want to look, you know, great. Anne NAILED IT. Even though this is a jumpsuit. This whole thing feels very Costuming For A Brainy Yet Sexy 70s Novelist, which honestly is a role I think she ought to look into.

On the other hand, while I appreciate Emma Roberts treating an awards show for books with the same level of panache that she would treat a movie premiere -- and I DO, emotionally, appreciate that! -- this might feel too ballgown-y?

I also don't know if you're supposed to take your butt out at the National Book Awards.

Cynthia Nixon hosted the awards and I feel like she ALSO went to the same fashion well that Anne Hathaway did -- the "this is fashion-y but ALSO smart. I look like a person who owns a lot of wire sculptures and might sometimes refer to my wife as my LOVER" well. It's a well that suits her...well.
