This would have been... you know, totally fine, IF IT FIT HER CHEST. As is, it's like she found it on clearance at Free People and was like, "Whatever, I'll stuff them in, it'll be fine!" It is not fine! She has a wonderful figure and I've seen her in person and it continually surprises me when she has to wear stuff like this. Maybe... she's into the pinch?

Retta is the BEST -- she is so great on Good Girls, which I am DELIGHTED is returning (season one is on Netflix, and no, I am not on the payroll) -- and she deserves better than cocktail pajamas.

She looks so cute in that dress, which when I am hungry looks like a bunch of pieces of cake just floating around. I don't entirely get the shoes with it, but at least they're not white or beige pumps.

WELCOME TO THE EMERALD CITY!

Love the shoes; wish they were in red with this, or fuchsia. I also would like that seam across her thighs not to be there, but that's an evergreen complaint.

She's in something called The Enemy Within. She's a CIA traitor (to save her kids' lives) in Supermax prison! He's got to catch a jerk! Can he trust her? Can she trust him? Can they trust themselves?!?!?! IS THIS REALLY THAT DIFFERENT THAN THE BLACKLIST?

She's fronting Abby's, a show about a woman who has an unlicensed neighborhood bar in her backyard. How soon before she dates a guy who turns out to be a cop?!? And WHY THOSE SHOES? I cancel thee, beige pumps! This outfit needs to be rebooted with almost any other shoe.

She is on New Amsterdam, and I got a kick out of her on The Carrie Diaries (most people know her from Dr. Who/Torchwood), but that is not enough to get me to watch a show whose ad featured the smug lead man handing a homeless person a piece of paper and saying, "I prescribe you... A HOME." I don't even care if it made sense in context.

Oh, hi there, aforementioned smug lead man! I'm sorry that your show annoys me, because your appreciation of a stripe is super.

She sometimes has crackpot taste, so this is pleasantly nice on her.

He is on Manifest, and... did anyone watch Once Upon A Time? Was he as terminally boring on that as he is on Manifest? In fairness, much of that is VERY LIEKLY the fault of Manifest. My friend and I like to pick one so-stupid-we-can't-look-away show every season and this is it for 2018-19.

She plays Josh Dallas's humorless sister (I can't tell if the humorlessness is intentional) and this whole outfit feels like it's made of Practical Swaps for stuff Meghan Markle wore in Australia and New Zealand.

He is SO DASHING.

But you, sir, are no Terry Alan Crews.
