Tan walked in as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamsuit, while Gigi wore that sparkly chain corset with pinstriped pants -- a look that she pulls off because she's Gigi, but that top was not particularly attractive to me. You can see its aesthetic a bit better in the next slide...

... she wore its cousin for the runway show. The boning and bra underneath are not cute enough for me to be looking at them. (I assume both are Versace, as Donatella was the guest.) It was also a bad hair and makeup day for Gigi. She looked a little consumptive. Not the way to start the show. Tan's t-shirt with pseudo-corset is wacky, but better.

I just wanted you to see Tan's pants. Donatella kept it SUPER simple, and Jason Bolden was SO casual. They sit on the runway like this to talk to each contestant individually, but eventually pulled out a stair so they could sit staggered. You'll see it somewhere in here.

This is for the episode where they worked with flowers and greenery, so Tan went with the butterflies and Gigi went with... every color imaginable in the garden.

She toned it WAY down for the runway, but still had the greenery theme. Tan's suit is good but the tank underneath reminds me of something you'd see on a Newsie during a sweaty dance number.

I BELIEVE this was a one-day episode, so Gigi and Tan didn't change. Everyone here looks good -- Emma Chamberlain is nailing 90s College Student right there. Gigi's outfit, with the tweedy red blazer, is everything I think Chanel wishes it was to The Youngs, but is not.

That's Isabel Marant, who seemed just absolutely tickled to be there. Gigi must be BLESSING HERSELF right now for wearing that Balenciaga cap turned backward. You only occasionally saw the brand name, which given the recent controversies is the best possible outcome.

That catsuit is weird and wild -- and I think it might actually have been separates, but the desired effect is clear. Friends, it was a jarring surprise, but I cannot say enough about how cool Gigi looked wandering around in that. Mostly because...

... she paired it with great slouchy black heeled boots. I don't know -- it just worked. (That's Olivier Rousteing in the stripes.)

And that's Gabriela Karefa-Johnson, whom clearly nobody told about this seating arrangement. She kept her hands just-so the entire time.

I hated Gigi's little see-through socks with this, but she otherwise sold this hot pink denim-on-denim situation so well. I'm also surprised Tan's cardigan had such a precise fit.

This was the Met episode, which Gigi began in her gigantic Versace from the most recent Met Gala and then changed into this. Which I LOVE. It looked fab and ended in a bit of a long train, which, yes, she had to drag around with her through the workroom, but she looked amazing doing it.

Gigi looks great, and TAN FRANCE WENT FOR IT. Imagine what he'd wear to the ACTUAL Met Gala.

This was the episode Bella guest-starred in, and they honestly both looked super.

That's Candice Swanepoel, a model oft photographed in swimsuits, for the swimsuit runway. (She was REALLY worked up about proper fit, and correctly.)

I cannot even remember what was happening here. It was one of the skits they did to open the episode. SHE looks great.

This works. Tan looks classic, and Gigi is dressed as an adorable picnic.

I cropped out the contestants to keep it spoiler-free for you here. Gigi's dress suddenly started printing out long pieces of paper. Every contestant looked terrified -- I think they were worried it was a high-tech challenge, but the paper just said TRANSFORMATION, and that was the assignment.

That yellow cape-pants scenario on Gigi, with the lipstick, REALLY works.

They coordinate very nicely with each other and the set. Just as a warning, the next slide shows one of the final collections behind the judges, so if you care about such things... close out now, because it means you're probably going to watch and you'll see the outfits yourself on TV. Otherwise... roll on!

Finale outfits! (That's the CEO of Rent the Runway on the right.) Gabriella steals this for me -- she looks AMAZING -- but Gigi's outfit is pretty great, too.
