I actually think this is very cool and I love the drama. I also love how easily you could ignore people you don't want to talk to -- this is much chicer than asking someone to talk to the hand, which is definitely a thing that cool youngsters are currently doing!!

HOWEVER! In practice, at an event where you are getting an award, it totally looks annoying. You look like you're peaking out from behind a half-wall in a 1980s mostly-open plan beach house.

And it occasionally blocks her pretty face! I feel like: Perfect for something like the Met Gala, where you glamorously traipse in and then avoid people you don't like, NOT ideal for this.
